Purpose of Scholarship
To encourage eligible students from Mauritius, who have demonstrated high academic achievement in their high school studies to undertake an undergraduate degree course at The University of Western Australia
Start and end dates of scholarship program
Semester 1 2017- Semester 2 2019
Eligibility
(1)   To be eligible to be considered for a scholarship, a candidate must—

 

(a)    be a citizen of Mauritius;

(b)   have achieved an equivalent ATAR1 of at least 85 in previous studies used for entry in the University;

(c)    be enrolled, or eligible to enrol, full-time in an undergraduate degree course.

(2)   To be eligible to take up a scholarship an awardee must be enrolled full-time in an undergraduate degree course.

(3)   Only students from the following schools plus any Laureate student or any students ranked in the top 200 or above nationally on their overall performance.

1 An equivalent ATAR is determined by UWA Admissions from previous studies used for entry into the University.

Selection criteria
The value of the scholarship is determined by the awardee’s equivalent Australian Tertiary Admissions Rank (ATAR)1

 

(a)    $3000 per annum for an equivalent ATAR of 85.00 – 89.99; and

(b)   $7000 per annum for an equivalent ATAR of 90 or more.

Summary of scholarship rules
·       Duration of award: total duration of studies at UWA in the applicable course (as stated in student’s offer letter)

 

·       Load: the reduced fee only applies if students maintain a 100% load (normally 48 points), and will not be extended if a student does not complete within the total course duration stated on their offer letters.
